Year 9 Electives

Subject Selection Process

A Year 9 Subject Expo will be held on Wednesday 3rd September from 3 – 4:15pm. Students and parents will have the opportunity to learn more about the electives on offer.

Students will be provided with login details to Edval Choices, an online platform on which to select their subject preferences. This will be emailed directly to their school email account.

When selecting electives students should consider the following:

  • Students will select six elective units and four reserve options. These should be listed in order of preference.

  • All students must choose at least three Arts and Technology subjects, one from the Arts domain and one from the Technology domain.

  • Language electives are year-long subjects and will count as two units. Students must have studied the language in Year 8.

  • Students may choose only one from the Mathematics and English domains.

  • Students should select subjects they are interested in and are excited to learn about.

Parents are encouraged to allow students to select electives on their own. It is important that students are engaged in their learning and are provided with the opportunity to explore areas of interest.
