Careers Education

Students at Brinbeal Secondary College will begin their Careers Education in Year 7 as part of their Mentor Sessions. Their careers education journey, described below, will continue throughout their time at the College. As students move into their Senior Years of education they will be supported by Careers Practitioners in planning their post school future.

Years 7 & 8: My Career Exploration

Students think about their interests, skills, values and aspirations and explore the world of the work through classroom activities and encounters with employers and industry.

Year 9: My Career Insights

All year 9 students will be given access to:

  • Morrisby, an online career discovery tool

  • analysis of their Morrisby career assessment through one-on-one career counselling by an externally accredited career practitioner.

Year 10: Work Experience

All Year 10 students will be supported to undertake a week of work experience. It provides students with the valuable opportunity to:

  • develop employability skills

  • explore possible career options

  • understand employer expectations
